CRITERIA EXPLAINED

As with any company or industry the caliber of the operation and their products can vary widely. There were several things we looked for in the seed banks we evaluated but none of these can 100% guarantee that you’ll have a successful outcome; BUT we believe they will significantly increase your chances. To adequately analyze and judge as many important factors fairly (and without bias) we have researched and evaluated seed sellers based on consistent norms applied equally to each sector.

The REPUTATION and RATINGS of a company isn’t just a simple average of all reviews. It’s based on multiple factors like the age and number of reviews and whether or not a business actively asks customers to write reviews.

One of the things we looked at as well was how long the seed bank has been in business. Not every new company is not to be trusted of course, but the ones that have been around for years have likely been successful because they are reputable.

2. CUSTOMER SERVICE

All companies profess to have great customer service but reality shows that’s not always the case with some companies being significantly better than others. What do the reviews say? How do they respond to customers’ questions and complaints? Things we reviewed in determining the grade of a company’s customer service are based on the following;

3. SEEDS –

VARIETIES/QUALITY
In evaluating a company’s VARIETY and/or QUALITY of seeds we decided to combine both attributes into one category.

We found several very good seed sellers offering thousands of strains from many reputable seed banks (nothing like one stop shopping). But we also found numerous seed banks advertising the “large quantity” of seeds they offer, sometimes in the thousands but when we looked deeper into their inventory, we found many strains where “NOT IN STOCK”. (Not good)

We also found that the number of strains many times was not as important as the quality of the seed.

Many smaller seed banks, ones that carried 60 to 70 strains had excellent reviews and carried the most popular strains. We believe their smaller size allows them to focus on better quality control in focusing on the grade of the genetics and repeating the process. Nothing worse than spending 6 to 8 weeks vegging and another 8 to 10 weeks flowering only to find out the resulting plant is A DUD.

6. PRICES/VALUE

VALUE is something that combines the quality of a product relative to its price. That was also our objective in finding the best seed sellers; finding the ones with the best VALUE.

We believe that it’s sometimes ok to purchase and pay slightly more for high quality seeds. Unfortunately, some unsuspecting buyers are paying high prices for inferior products and our research saw several seed sellers with extremely high prices with fair to poor reviews.
